give us a hand

whats in a name.

hi,
workbook is coming along well, been editing, restructuring and re-writing the document to make it clearer and a little more edgy and less academic wanky. One thing I think we should consider is a proper name for the slug/fruit/leech thing. been doing research on some words similar to the project. The organism is essentially a parasite, and organism that lives off another body, though the definition of a parasite states that the parasitic organism is usually detrimental to the host organism. So more specifically, the fruit thing is an epiphyte. The oxford dictionary definition for which is "a vegetable parasite on the surface of an animal body."
So there could be room to do something with words like this, will definitely be working them into the documentation, but there all quite impersonal, I almost think we need to give it a name like Gary or something... something abit more tongue in cheek, more to think about.

Photoshop!

The Website.

Final Website.
We each have our little section that we are in charge of, but they all need to fit, and work with bens overall template.

The front page of the site looks like this: + digitally done slugs.

and is 360 degrees rotatable.  The menu system is still being talked about, but will wrap around the body somehow.  We have 5 sections:
  • Philosophy (scott)
  • Genetics (Kev)
  • Life Cycle (Byron M)
  • Images (Me)
  • PDF download
When you click on one of these links, the model spins around, zooms in on a part of the body and blows out to white.

What we need for each section are a series of images 1024x768 and the first and last slide need a white background.  So we need pretty much a 'presentation' for each section

Example of what would fit with the website

Not this much text either!!

Go for any images from the previous projects for these sections, or a close up of the slugs and their colour, but dont use anything that is going to lessen the impact of the finals from this time around.

Feedback on font is good! please.  But we do need to be consistant. we can pick them today.

I dont think any of the previous sites have done very well at incorporating text.

This is being human:

Pretty boring.

And this is Post life:

Who have done it the best out of everyone i think.

Will talk more to everyone after the shoot today.
