Ideas communicated in the film
"Externalising thought through architecture"
Using Architecture as a tool to communicate the thoughts and experiences of oneself while dreaming.
Inspiration for the architecture is taken from the unique movements of the human body while asleep. These body movements create the architecture for the body, which communicates the thought in relation to the persons dream.
While dreaming, the human mind has freedom to experience and learn to an endless extent, rather than the restrictions that are forced on us in the real living world.
Our dreams that we experience will be communicated or shared with others through "droplets of silk genes emerging from our pores," these droplets develop into strands which solidify in relation to the experience we receive while asleep. These strands form the shelter for our bodies throughout our dream.
The movements of the human body while sleeping defines the architectural boundaries.
The intertwining threads of silk form complex acts of communication, and each thread expresses different information about the experience.
- The film is rather simple in composition but emphasizes the important details of the project.
- Some of the imagery is a bit difficult to fully understand what its communicating.
- the text explains the main aspects of the dolphins philosophy. The text layout is imposing on the visuals of the film and could have been used more collaboratively to work with the visuals.
- the collaboration of audio and visuals worked well to express emotions and the experience of dreams.
- the video seems a bit disconnected.
